The Medford Hamlet ALR is a 200-bed residence providing high-quality assisted living services to income restricted senior citizens. The facility is licensed by the New York State Department of Health and maintains licensure under New York State's Assisted Living Program (ALP).
New York State developed the ALP program in order to provide a more appropriate and affordable care environment to meet the social and health care needs of the senior population. Participation in the ALP facilitates The Medford Hamlet's capacity to address these needs by providing its residents access to Medicaid Reimbursement and SSI Level 3 benefits.
As the first newly constructed ALP on Long Island, and one of the largest in New York State, we have made affordable assisted living a reality. The facility fills an identified need for affordable, quality housing for seniors who can no longer live alone without assistance, but who do not need continual skilled nursing care. As a participant in the New York State ALP program, The Medford Hamlet offers a complete range of services that allow residents to "age in place", without fear of having to move due to economic constraints.
In 2009, The Medford Hamlet Assisted Living Residence, was selected to the National Development Council Academy Project Showcase. It was also named "The Best Senior Assisted Living Facility" by the Long Island Business Journal.
The success of The Medford Hamlet serves as a model that FilBen Development is replicating in additional communities.
